The second running of Triton ONE played out in Jeju last week and the new tour reached even higher levels of success than its debut last September.
There was a significant increase in player numbers and prize pools in every equivalent event, year-on-year, with the $8,000 Main Event setting a new global record for a tournament of that specific price point.
The $8,000 buy-in is Triton ONE's particular niche. It is slightly higher than most major Main Events in Europe, which tend to have €5,000 buy-ins, and slightly lower than the $10,000 asked of players to enter so-called "Championship" events at the World Series of Poker.
It is obviously significantly lower than Triton ONE's sister tour, the Super High Roller Series, where buy-ins start at $20,000.
But this is the precise appeal and purpose of Triton ONE. It offers players the chance to sample Triton's industry-leading player experience at a slightly lower price point than the Super High Roller Series.
"This was a completely new tour, so we were able to go to the drawing board and not have to follow the 20-year, 50-year legacies, of events that happen around the globe," says Luca Vivaldi, Senior Director of Live Events for the Triton Poker Series.

Luca Vivaldi introduces the final table of the Triton ONE Main Event
"It was positioned intentionally. It is a modern price point, taking into account natural inflation, but thatstill encourages participation for those players who cannot experience the Super High Roller Series without diluting the prestige of Triton."
Vivaldi adds: "We included all the side events in this thinking process. We wanted to keep market evolution in mind, and to think about long-term sustainability.
"It's a natural bridge between the mass events and the Super High Roller Series. It's not exactly the middle, but there's a gap there and we were trying to fill it. We were trying to put ourselves in a position to be able to give the exclusive Triton experience to players and have a taste of the Super High Roller Series. That's what we're famous for."
Even though the buy-in is smaller than the Super High Roller Series, the prize pools are still massive with numerous players leaving Jeju after securing life-changing scores.
In general, Triton ONE already compares favourably with all major tours outside of the WSOP. The Main Event prize pool of close to $9 million puts it among the biggest mid-stakes events in the world.
Similarly, the $3K QQPK Genesis, which attracted 1,236 entries, is thought to be the biggest event by field size for a tournament of that buy-in outside the WSOP.
Players have shown their appreciation for Triton ONE by these startling numbers, and by the distance many have travelled, from all corners of the world, to play.

Players came from across the globe to fill the Triton ONE tournament room
In all, there were players of 50 nationalities who played Triton ONE, from six continents: Asia, North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Australasia. Of the 802 unique players, 303 were from China, with Japan, Malaysia and Taiwan completing the top five.
However, there were also players from as far afield as South Africa, Estonia, Colombia and Peru, underlining an exceptional global appeal.
